Botswana Energy Regulator Reminds Developers of Electricity Licensing Requirements

On 26 October, the Botswana Energy Regulatory Authority issued a public notice reminding developers, investors and organisations that generating electricity for supply to others or for sale requires a licence under Section 35 of the BERA Act, unless an exemption applies. No licence fee or project value was specified in the notice. Energy companies can review their regulatory obligations and strengthen compliance processes, with HPC supporting regulatory research and compliance documentation.
