Panama’s Puerto Barú Port Project Advances After Environmental Court Decision
On 27 October, Newsroom Panama reported that Panama’s Supreme Court upheld the legality of the environmental impact assessment for the proposed Puerto Barú port in Chiriquí. The private green-port project is estimated at US$250–260 million and aims to strengthen logistics, agribusiness and tourism links in western Panama; this is the estimated overall project value, not a newly awarded environmental-services contract. Environmental consultants and port operators can explore impact monitoring, resource-efficiency modelling and sustainability analytics, while HPC can support technical simulations and environmental data processing.
